The research continues - at the generous invitation of Prof. Alex Forman from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technion, the geochemical and biogeochemical research of Tel Hai College continues. The student Yaktrina Fishman, under the joint guidance of Dr. Iris Zohar from Tel Hai and Prof. Revital Bookman from the University of Haifa, is conducting a sedimentological-geochemical study, the purpose of which is to identify contamination by heavy trace metals in the sediments of water basins downwind from the industrial area in the Gulf Haifa, in order to identify regional air pollution trends. In the photo, Yekaterina performs extractions of the trace metals to measure concentrations and determine the mobility of polluting trace metals in the sediment layers extracted from selected water bodies, from the Nesher area to a pool on the border of Jordan (the main photo - from the day of the magical sampling).
