About the Lab

For more than a decade, Professor Meirav Hen, a clinical psychologist, and Dr. Marina Goroshit, a sociologist, have been researching the field of procrastination. They conduct studies in Israel and in collaboration with international procrastination researchers from the United States, Canada and Europe, participate in international conferences, and have published 16 articles in leading academic journals. The laboratory studies the phenomenon of procrastination among human beings, with a specific focus on procrastinating behaviours in different life domains. The basic assumption is that this maladaptive behaviour is related to personality and personal aspects of life (anxiety, perfectionism, difficulty in self-regulation and distractibility), that are expressed in a variety of ways, in different life domains. The laboratory is staffed by four undergraduate and master’s degrees psychology students who are research assistants.

Research Areas

The laboratory studies are in academic procrastination, procrastination in health behaviours, procrastination in parenting tasks, procrastination among professionals and in the workplace, procrastination in couple relationships and more.
