About the Center 

The Research Center for Sports and Physical Activity at Tel-Hai College was established to promote academic research in the field of sports and enrich knowledge in the field. The center seeks to serve as an interdisciplinary meeting place for researchers, students and professionals in the field. The center’s activity includes theoretical and applied research to serve Israeli researchers in general and particularly from the North of Israel.

 

Center Goals
•    Encouraging research activity - collecting and organizing information, academic-professional guidance, encouraging students to actively participate in faculty research, creating platforms for sharing products and creating local and international collaborations.
•    Promotion of academic products - publication of the center's research in articles, brochures and books. Holding seminars, conferences and round tables. Developing relationships between academia and the community - creating professional collaborations with local sports teams. Applying research knowledge to improve health, physical activity and sports among athletes and the general population.
•    Academic and professional-applied publications in the field of sports.
•    Creating collaborations - the center sets itself the goal of initiating collaborations with similar centers in Israel and around the world. Additionally, initiating cooperation with municipal, health, educational and sports organizations for the purpose of research and to increase physical activity in practice.

Research Areas

Leading researchers in their fields will simultaneously work for the center from a variety of disciplines in the context of sports and physical activity, Including:
•    Sports sociology
•    Physical education
•    Psychology of sports and physical activity
•    Sports communication and social media
•    History
•    Kinesiology, physiology, motor control and learning, biomechanics
