The horrific events of October 7th in the Gaza Envelope, and the outbreak of the “Iron Swords” war have reverberated throughout the entire country, and especially the already volatile border of the North.
The Tel-Hai community, including current and former students, faculty members, our staff and their families, have been deeply affected by the war and the great loss we've experienced. Many of our students and faculty are now serving in active duty across the various fronts. As tension has escalated along the northern borders, 60,000 residents of the North have been evacuated from their homes. Tel-Hai employees are working from around the country, responding to the crisis and remaining a central source of strength and resilience for the northern communities from afar.
Tel-Hai has responded to this emergency situation, addressing the needs of our local communities and security forces, while contributing in every way possible to the war effort and devastated communities of the South. With mounting threats on the northern front, residents are facing immediate psychological, physical, and financial challenges. At the same time, we are planning for the challenges and needs that will arise for our faculty and students upon return to civilian life.
To this end, the college has launched emergency response programs and initiatives for students, faculty, local communities, and our local partner organizations. Tel-Hai needs your support in 5 major areas:
1. Establishing a student and faculty emergency fund.
2. Strengthening emergency infrastructures.
3. Adapting academic operations to emergency circumstances.
4. Ensuring the continuation of research activities.
5. Promoting resilience in the community.
Your support will help strengthen Israel's northern communities and create a sustainable trauma response system.
