Prof. Shalev Eliezer is chair professor emeritus from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. He has held the position of Tel-Hai College president since February 2022. During the years 2011-2016, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. From 2017 to 2021 he served, first as the Executive Pro Vice Chancellor for research and academic affairs and then in the last 2 years as the Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), Guangdong Province, China.

Prof. Shalev currently holds the position of chairman of the National Council for Gynecology, Neonatology, and Genetics at the Israeli Ministry of Health. In 2017 Prof Shalev was awarded by the Israeli Minister of Health, the prize for “Lifetime Achievement” for his contribution to the medical profession. He began his medical studies at the University of Bologna in Italy and continued and graduated in 1977 at the Technion in Haifa. As an Obstetrician and Gynecologist Prof Shalev has held for 26 years the position of Chairman of the division of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in Emek Medical Center, Afula Israel as well as other distinguished positions such as President of the Israeli Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chairman of the Technological and Medical Infrastructure Advisory Committee, and of the Advisory Committee for the Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Health as well as Head, of the scientific advising subcommittee for obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive endocrinology. Prof Shalev also served on the Israeli Science Foundation's Advisory Committee on Medicine and the International Federation for Obstetrics and Gynecology's (FIGO) advisory panel on maternal and perinatal health. Prof Shalev's main basic research interests are Regenerative Medicine and the Mechanism of embryonic implantation and Birth. He has authored or co-authored more than 250 papers and book chapters and was the advisor for PhD, MSc, and MD students. He presented at dozens of international conferences and served on the editorial board and as an ad-hoc reviewer for numerous international journals. He also served as a judging committee member in several international grants referee agencies and consulted several start-up biotechnology companies.
