Yuval Shahar, Distinguished Water Sciences Master’s Grad, Publishes First Article: Congratulations!

Congratulations to Yuval Shahar, who completed his master's degree in water sciences with honors and published as first author an article describing the theoretical stages of finding the mechanism of the kinetics of pollutant degradation by oxidation.

The article deals with a photochemical and photocatalytic degradation mechanism of a drug that is considered a difficult-to-degrade pollutant (carbamazepine). In addition, the article also presents a series of experiments that come to test whether the proposed mechanism gives an answer to the measured results. The work was carried out in the laboratory for environmental physical chemistry in Migal, under the direction of Prof. Giora Rytwo.

Full paper can be seen here.

We congratulate Yuval on the publication and wish him success in his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University, in the laboratory of Prof. Benny Chefetz in the field of environmental chemistry.
