The Fulbright Specialist Program

The fully funded program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.
Specialists, who represent a wide range of professional and academic disciplines, are competitively selected to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster based on their knowledge, skill sets, and ability to make a significant contribution to projects overseas. Those individuals that have been approved to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster are then eligible to be matched with approved projects designed by international host institutions. Once abroad, Specialists partner with their host institution to conduct project activities in support of the host institution’s priorities and goals.

Over the past years, Tel-Hai College was proud to welcome Fulbright Specialists, among them:

Prof. Michael Kern, Washington State University:

Dr. Ayala Cohen from Tel-Hai's Department of Social Work, has for a number of years sought to create a Regional Knowledge Centre on collaborative governance within the College, that can address and resolve community challenges and conflicts throughout Northern Israel. During his visit, Professor Michael Kern provided knowledge, inspiration and support towards the establishment of such a center and his specialist knowledge, experience and insights into this endeavor have been invaluable. Professor Kern provided a number of Guest Lectures to our 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students as well as keynote speeches to members of the local regional council on the field of collaborative governance.
