Research

My academic background is in political geography and regional planning.

Borders and national peripheral regions have been my main area of research. My past research has focused on economic and environmental developments along  the Israel-Jordan border, and cooperative industrial initiatives between Israel and Egypt.

Another central research project has been the challenge of development and social integration in peripheral regions, which I examined through  extensive fieldwork in Jewish and Arab towns and villages as well as local and national government policy analysis.

My current research projects include the conceptualization of a typology of border corruption and an analysis of the effect of working from a distance (from home) on the economic prospects of peripheral regions.
