The master's degree program in developmental psychology at Tel Hai College is designed to train developmental psychologists, the lack of which is evident in the northern region and especially felt in Galilee. Developmental psychologists respond to children, educators, and parents, especially in early childhood, with a developmental reference to the entire life cycle, and use advanced methods to research and develop an understanding of the developmental field. The psychologists who will study in the program will acquire research and assessment skills will be trained in diagnosis, treatment, and counseling, and will be able to work in all institutions that provide treatment in the childhood years, such as child development
institutes, preschool psychiatric units, developmental units in educational psychological services, developmental units in the community, and more.
The program, which includes a track with a thesis and a track without a thesis, is intended for those with a bachelor's degree in psychology or behavioral sciences, who have passed the correlation exam and want to engage in the developmental field in an applied manner and in research. The program meets the requirements of the professional committee for developmental psychology and those who successfully complete their studies will be able to apply for an internship.
The master's degree studies require in the first year of studies the presence of two days a week at the Tel-Hai campus in the first semester, and the presence of an additional day in the second semester for practicum experience in early childhood educational settings. In the second year, the studies require the presence of one day a week at the Tel Hai campus as well as two days of practicum at recognized institutions for specialization. The full study program requires the accumulation of 50 compulsory credit points.
