Studies in the department instill interdisciplinary knowledge and enable students to understand personal, organizational and societal issues involved in providing services for a variety of roles in Israel. The theoretical and practical training assist students to assume a wide range of key roles in public and nonprofit organizations and companies, such as, government offices, banks, legal and health systems.
The track is interdepartmental and is integrated according to the student’s choice with: Economics and Management, Psychology, Computer Science, Education, Multidisciplinary Studies or East Asian Studies.

Prof. Edna Rabenu
Dear Students,
During the next three years, the Human Services Department will become your home away from home. It is a strong and stable home filled with activity, love, and wisdom that reaches beyond its physical walls.
During your time with the Human Services Department, you will grow cognitively and emotionally.
The academic and administrative staff, your peers, the student environment, and the expansive natural setting of Tel Hai will provide you countless intellectual, psychological, and social resources that will help you grow and reach your potential.
We, the Human Service Department, believe in you and will guide you to become the best version of yourself. The academic staff and I provide up-to-date professional and academic knowledge, pose thoughtful questions for discussion, teach a diverse range of skills, and provide motivation and support. You, as the student, should take this period with both hands and leave your comfort zone - examine your own perceptions and attitudes, experiment, practice, influence, initiate and lead. Remember – it takes effort for this to be a meaningful experience.
Invest your time and energy.
Human Services is a multidisciplinary field that engages in the management of people in organizations during all stages of the employment cycle (i.e., human resources management) and provides added value to a variety of stakeholders: businesses, communities, and labor markets (local and international). The beauty of this department is you gain insights into psychology, sociology, management, economics, entrepreneurship, communications, and law. By studying these diverse fields, our graduates are able to provide high quality service and solutions no matter the setting.
Our goal is to give you knowledge and skills so you are prepared to lead in a range of diverse settings. Specially, we place you in management positions (from entry to mid-level management) in all sectors: the first sector – public (national and local government institutions), the second sector –for-profit business, the third sector – non-profit organizations, and the fourth sector – for-profit social enterprises and businesses.
Your studies commence during a period of rapid change in the world of work, with no guarantees that what is today will be there tomorrow. Artificial intelligence and other technological developments are driving us forward at an unimaginable pace. I hope that your time with our department will be meaningful in that you are prepared for a world of work that demands creativity, innovation, teamwork (with human or non-human team members), resilience, and utilization of soft skills alongside digital literacy.
I wish you a fruitful and successful academic year.
