Animal Science (B.Sc.)
Students of the Animal Science program acquire knowledge in biology, ecology, biotechnology, technologies for animal breeding, animal welfare, and holding conditions. They also gain insight into food management, hygiene and diseases, genetics and genetic improvement, and the relationship between animals and humans, with an emphasis on legal and ethical issues.
Recently, the department opened a new track: Animal Health Track, which allows students to apply to veterinary schools in Israel and abroad for advanced studies.
Tel-Hai's Animal Science B.Sc. degree is recognized for a 4-year veterinary curriculum at The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, Slovakia.

Zoology in Israel and in the world is in a period of prosperity. The technological, molecular, and computational developments open up new possibilities to investigate subjects and phenomena that until recently were nothing more than a dream. The Department of Animal Sciences, at the Tel-Hai College, tries to comprehensively touch upon the science of zoology in its various branches. The Department of AnimalSciences, like any scientific bachelor's degree, provides basic scientific knowledge, but beyond that in the Department of Animal Sciences, we provide knowledge and tools in the fields of ecology and evolution, physiology, nature conservation, animal husbandry, and animal health.
Our academic staff is very diverse and includes physiologists, ecologists, zoologists, nature conservationists, breeding and reproductive biology researchers, and veterinarians. In addition, the geographical environment in which we are located, Galilee and its surroundings, allow us to combine during the degree many tours, and experiences in the field and give students a different educational experience. Beyond that, in light of the tremendous complexity and the various areas of interest that exist in the animal sciences, the students in the department are given a variety of unique and in-depth elective courses.
We attract diverse students, from all over the country, who aspire to continue in the research direction, in the field of ecology and evolution, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and animal health, or simply lovers of animals and nature who want to channel their love into an academic science degree as well.
We, the faculty of the department, aspire to give our students freedom of thought together with critical scientific thinking, broad zoological knowledge, a deep understanding of complex processes in the fields of evolution, ecology, and physiology, tools of thought, computational tools and laboratory tools that will optimally prepare our graduates for the rest of their journey. All this together with ethical thinking and an understanding of the place of animals and nature or rather, our place within the earth's ecosystem.
Our graduates are already a significant part of the research, zoological, and veterinary landscape in Israel and carry with them these abilities and values.
You are invited to join challenging, fruitful, and fun studies.
