The Nutritional Science study program at Tel-Hai College is designed to train clinical nutritionists and dieticians, with the option of specific enrichment in elective courses: behavioral science – different aspects of eating disorders and treatment for them; sports medicine – nutrition under stress and nutritional guidance for athletes.
Graduates may continue to assume roles in hospitals, schools, care facilities for the elderly, and in the private sector. Internships may be allocated on confirmation of entitlement to a degree.

Since the time of the Greek Hippocrates, man has understood the connection between nutrition and health, appropriate nutrition prevents disease and even aids in healing. The profession of nutrition is multidisciplinary and includes training in science, clinical training, and development of treatment skills. Nutritional science deals with the relationship between nutrition and health, and how nutritional components in food affect the human body.
This science is a central and inseparable element in the prevention and treatment of various diseases and enables the improvement and maintenance of the state of health. The accumulation of knowledge in the field of nutritional sciences and the variety of application options make it one of the most sought-after fields in the market.
Professionals in the field of nutrition today face enormous challenges, related to chronic morbidity due to poor nutrition, which causes a host of medical problems, food insecurity, and in addition to climate crises that affect the nutritional value of foods and the way we consume food. Nutrition professionals will understand the complex relationship between food, agriculture, and the environment, and how to promote healthy and sustainable food systems. The field of nutrition is constantly evolving, it is an exciting and dynamic science that offers many opportunities to positively influence the health and well-being of the population.
The Department of Nutritional Sciences at Tel-Hai College is one of the oldest in Israel, responsible for the training of hundreds of nutritionists and is highly regarded in Israel and around the world.
The Department of Nutritional Sciences trains dietitians and clinical dietitians with in-depth knowledge and understanding of life sciences, with an emphasis on human health, from the physiological, mental, and social aspects, as a result of a combination of environmental and hereditary factors.
The professional staff at the college is committed to academic and practical excellence while leading at the forefront of science and research in the field of nutrition, and training graduates to be successful and leading professionals.
The faculty of lecturers in the Department of Nutritional Sciences consists of scientists, lecturers, dietitians, and doctors prominent in their fields with significant scientific achievements, all of whom are committed to providing a personal and supportive learning experience.
After comprehensive training, the graduates of the department will be able to integrate as clinical nutritionists in a wide variety of positions in hospitals, health insurance funds, the education system, local authorities, various therapeutic institutions, the private market, and in a selection of positions in the industry. In addition, graduates of the department will be able to continue their studies towards advanced degrees at Tel Hai College and the research universities with the aim of acquiring various specializations in the fields of nutritional sciences, public health, pre-medicine, biotechnology, and more.
