Biotechnology (B.Sc., M.Sc.)
The Biotechnology programs focus on critical aspects of product development, multidisciplinary research, drug discovery technologies, bioinformatics, regulatory affairs, and product commercialization, and offer a specialization in agriculture.
The M.Sc. program offers thesis and non-thesis tracks. The non-thesis track students conduct their research projects at the MIGAL Galilee Research Institute laboratories.

Biotechnology is a scientific branch whose occupation is the application of the extensive knowledge of biology for the benefit of humanity. This application includes the development of new drugs, early detection of genetic defects and diseases, utilization of natural materials, development of resistant plant varieties, and more. It requires a combination of in-depth knowledge of life sciences together with knowledge in fields such as physics, chemistry, and organic chemistry. The biotechnologist is required to be familiar with modern genetic engineering methods, know how to operate sophisticated measuring devices, analyze the results of the measurements with the help of statistics, and summarize the results in the language of scientific writing.
The Department of Biotechnology at Tel Hai Academic College, one of the leaders in its field in the country, sees its vocation in imparting this broad knowledge to its students. All the lecturers of the department are active and experienced researchers, engaged in a wide range of research at the forefront of biotechnology science.
In terms of biotechnological research, we are in fascinating and challenging times. On the one hand, scientific knowledge is accumulating at a dizzying pace, while on the other hand, we are still faced with difficult and unsolved problems that have accompanied humanity since the dawn of history, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, and degenerative diseases. It is very possible that the accumulated scientific knowledge will produce a "critical mass" in the years to come which will allow us to solve these problems at least in part. If that happens, it will be a real revolution and I invite you to take part in it.
