The education system in Israel and around the world is challenged by the implementation of new pedagogical approaches, diverse ways of learning, and an emphasis on processes of understanding and developing the skills of independent learning and creative thinking. The master's degree studies in education at Tel Hai College provide tools for assimilating the educational changes in educational organizations. About half of the curriculum is dedicated to basic studies aimed at creating a deep infrastructure of knowledge necessary for people involved in education. The basic studies enable exposure to diverse educational perspectives in the world in general and in Israel in particular.
The program allows suitable candidates to combine advanced studies with professional training in sought-after and developing fields of specialization. The program is intended for graduates of the departments of education at Tel Hai College, and in other academic institutions in Israel, including academic colleges for training teachers with a B.Ed degree and a teaching certificate in all fields, for teaching staff in the formal education system and informal education staff, who wish to advance to management positions in their institutions. In addition, the program is intended for employees in the local government systems and local authorities, who wish to broaden their horizons. Candidates from other departments in the social sciences and the humanities (such as psychology, human services, social work) who are accepted into the program will need supplementary studies.
For eligible students, the program also allows for a research study track (track with a thesis) that allows continuing studies for Ph.D. (a third degree, doctorate).
The studies are concentrated to one day a week for 4 semesters in order to make it easier for the working students.
The program has two clusters. Each student will choose one of them:
• Management in education.
• Unique populations and special education.

The education systems in the world and in Israel are in a time of crisis and searching for an innovative way. We are witnessing a slow transition from an education system born in the days of the industrial revolution, to a new education system aimed at the changes of the 21st century. The challenges faced by the education system in Israel emphasize the importance and mission of choosing the academic track in the Department of Education.
Education is a process of learning in which knowledge, skills, values and attitudes are acquired throughout the life cycle. Education has a significant social role and a contribution to the individual in self-realization and fulfillment. Educational academic knowledge is the basis of teaching, guidance and assistance within the formal and informal education systems as well as in later stages of life, such as the parenting process.
The importance of the educator's role in the success of the educational process cannot be overstated. It was not for nothing that Abraham Joshua Heschel said: "The personality of the teacher is the text that the students learn; the text that they will never forget."
Education based on connections, responsibility, caring, understanding and involvement generates positive change. A willingness to listen, learn something new, create and change are critical to achieving educational-social goals. Therefore, educational leadership is also required of every educator: to lead, to influence, to quickly adopt the changing circumstances, to innovate, to deal with uncertainty and complex tasks, to be able to get the best out of yourself and others.
Master's degree studies in the Department of Education are an important step in the professional development of every educator for the continuous improvement of the education system.
